Houses of Parliament Visit
On 22nd January our Key Stage 2 School Councillors had the amazing opportunity to visit the Houses of Parliament in London.
During the trip the children also got to see some of London's landmarks and see Parliament in action.
Buckingham Palace
The children got to see the beautiful palace and have plenty of photos. They watched the King's Guards march in front of the palace. We walked up The Mall to St James's park.

St James's Park
We had our lunch in this lovely park and even got to see 4 police on horse back riding through the park. The horses were magnificent. We were amazed to find pelicans on the pond in the park and spent time watching them. Before we left the park we even had a sneaky game of frisbee.

Houses of Parliament
We had a tour of the inside of the Houses of Parliament including visiting Westminster Palace Hall - the oldest part of the building. We got to stand where many Kings and Queens have stood. We were really lucky to be able to go into the viewing gallery and see both the House of Commons and the House of Lords in action. Following our tour, with Pink - our amazing tour guard, we took part in a workshop to further our understanding of how a law is made.

The children were amazing for the whole day. Many people commented on how polite and well behaved they were. We walked over 15000 steps and climbed 17 flights of stairs, got the train and the underground and saw lots of London sights. What an amazing day!
