During their school life, children from Reception to Year 6 will have the opportunity to join extra-curricular clubs for sporting and other activities. The clubs and activities can change from year to year and term to term. They are offered on a rota basis to different year groups to ensure as many children as possible can access these clubs.
We do ask for a contribution towards the cost of running these clubs and the sporting clubs are partly supported by the Sports Premium Grant.
Some of the clubs on offer at the moment include:
Martial Arts and Multi-skills
These clubs are delivered by Mr Fox. Children are taught self-defence as well as many other skills including; self-control, fitness, stamina, fair play and concentration.
Eco & Gardening Club
This club is delivered by Miss Batham with support from Mrs Murray. We aim to inspire the children to learn about and to have a responsibility for the environment around them. They take part in fun activities including growing flowers and edible plants from seeds, recycling and sustainability programmes, creative work and modelling. This club is provided for both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 pupils. The children also have the use of an allotment.
SAM Learning is a club specifically for Year 6 pupils who are approaching SAT’s examinations. The club gives the children opportunity to access the SAM Learning internet based tool which teaches and supports them with SAT’s style questions. The club runs from after Christmas to the SAT’s examination week in May.
